In order to develop more efficient and economic gasification technology, the gasification reactivity of coals has been intensively studied all over the world. Most of the studies are carried out with thermal gravimetric analyzer under the relatively low temperature. And the test samples are usually pre-prepared coal chars. However, the entrained-flow gasifier is characterized as its high operation temperature and the close contact between the coal particles and the reaction gas. In this regard the use of pre-prepared char sample may be not necessary or even not suitable since the preparation process strongly affects the reactivity of the char1. Usually the condition used for the char sample preparation is much different from the operation condition of the entrained-flow gasifier. Thus the char pre-prepared could be much different with the char formed in the gasifier. In this study, the gasification reactivity of a Chinese lignite with respect to CO2 was investigated. The gasification experimental was carried out in a simulated-drop-tube reactor at 1273-1773K. In order to eliminate the effect caused by the char preparation procedure and obtain the result more closely related to the real situation, the raw coal, not its char, was directly tested. The CO2-gasification of the pre-prepared char was also studied for comparison. |
